| Zippo Hand Warmer InstructionsHow to fill1. Remove Hand Warmer lid. Remove burner element. (Burner element has a tight fit.)2. Pour Zippo Lighter Fluid in to the plastic filling cup. Do not spill. • Fill to lower line for about 12 hours of heat. • Fill to upper line for about 24 hours of heat. • Do not fill beyond the upper line. 3. Pour lighter fluid into the catalytic burner opening. Do not overfill. Overfilling will cause malfunction. 4. Carefully wipe off any excess lighter fluid from the Hand Warmer surfaces and allow excess fuel to evaporate. 5. Carefully replace the burner. 6. Be sure fuel can is closed and there is no spilled fuel in the vicinity before igniting. How to igniteA. With the lid off, hold the base unit with one hand and apply flame to the burner for 3 to 5 seconds using the other hand. Keep hands away from any flame.B. Locate orange indicator bar on side of lid. Touch indicator bar to the center of the burner 10 to 15 seconds. The burner has been ignited when color of the bar changes from orange to red. If the indicator does not turn red, repeat step A C. After ignition has been confirmed, replace Hand Warmer lid, then place warmer into the warming bag. You must place the Hand Warmer in the bag to prevent over-heating. Your Zippo Hand Warmer will now provide comfortable warmth. After ignition, heat is provided without flame by the catalytic unit. D. If necessary to stop heating action, carefully pry off the burner element with pliers, knife or edge of the lid. The burner element will be very hot. Do not touch it to the skin or any flammable surface. The burner and catalytic unit will then extinguish in about 30 seconds. When the burner and catalytic unit have cooled, replace the burner and the lid. CAUTION!• If you see any flame emerging from your Hand Warmer, this is a malfunction. Set it aside on a fire proof surface and let it burn out or smother flame with a fire safe cloth. DO NOT USE THE HAND WARMER OR PLACE HAND WARMER IN THE WARMING BAG. Call Zippo Consumer Relations to report the problem and seek repair. • The Hand Warmer can get very hot. To avoid burning yourself and others, always keep it in the warming bag. If it is still too hot, wrap it in an additional piece of cloth. When removed from warming bag the Hand Warmer can get very hot. DO NOT TOUCH. • Do not take the warmer out of the bag or touch the burner when it is hot. To avoid a low temperature burn of the skin, do not allow the warmer to remain on only one area of your body. Change its position frequently. Do not use in bed. Low-temperature burn: a burn caused by long time contact with a heat source having a temperature higher than the body temperature. It shows such symptoms as red spots or blisters on the skin. It may occur without you being aware of it. Children, the elderly, the handicapped, and those unable to remove the Hand Warmer by themselves should be supervised when using this product. Remove Hand Warmer immediately from the skin if it becomes uncomfortably hot. If used incorrectly, higher temperatures may occur, causing burns and permanent scarring. FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
